The Last Blast & The First Spurt Read-a-Thon

So I just came up with this now. It’s more of a personal read-a-thon but join if you wish! Basically, I’m gunna have a read-a-thon 29th December to the 3rd January to ensure I finish as many books at the end of the year as possible as well as get a good head start on next years challenge (book count still undecided).

If you DO wanna join then here are the details:

Runs: Midnight (your time) 29th December – 3rd Jan 11:59pm (your time)
Challenge: Read as many book as possible! Hit that goal count! Get a good head start!

I hope to get Mistborn finished, maybe get a good head start into Enlantris as well as finally finish GANTZ and some other manga xD

If you do join let me know but like I said, it’s personally for me so I don’t mind if you don’t join ^_^

Summer #CramaThon TBR!

Cram-a-Thon video here.

When: July 10th (Midnight Your Time) – July 13th

1. Read a Children’s Book
2. Read a Hardback
3. Read 2 books in 24 hours
4. Read a Graphic Novel
5. Read a book written in verse
6. Read a Novella
7.  Read 5 books total

My YT Video TBR

HokusaiBrave New WorldThe Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, #1)1984

Otomen, Vol. 1 (Otomen, #1)Otomen, Vol. 2 (Otomen, #2)Otomen, Vol. 3 (Otomen, #3)Death Note, Vol. 13: How to Read (Death Note, #13)

And if I have time, carry on with:

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter, #5)The Vampire Lestat (The Vampire Chronicles, #2)Armada

I can definitely get numbers 3 (due to manga) and 4 (manga shh!). I am not doing number 5 because I am not attempting my wonderful Shakespeare for a Read-a-Thon, he deserves more time and respect! Also, I don’t own an Novellas unless I change that to ‘short story’ (so anything under… 50 pages?) but we’ll see!

Are you participating?! Link me to your TBRs! xD

I failed. Let’s just get that out of the way xD I managed:

– The Vampire Lestat [114 pages]
– Kuroshitsuji Chapter 105 [22 pages]
– The Jungle Book [9 pages]

So I didn’t complete a book on my TBR and I didn’t stick just to my TBR. Oopsie xD

There is just under a week left of May and I plan to finish The Vampire Lestat and The Jungle Book so I can start ALL new books in June! ^_^

Bout of Books 13 TBR

As this is my very last week at uni and all I have is revision, I feel I will have enough time to take part in this! And my plan is very simple: Finish all the books I’m currently reading and finish all the books I have left at uni with me! So the TBR is as follows…

Currently Reading

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)Car FeverThe One (The Selection #3)

Still at Uni with Me

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through The Looking-GlassThe Jungle BookTreasure Island

As for goals…I think I’ll keep it nice and simple:
1. Read as much as I can
2. Finish GoT (finally, please!)
3. Finish all my CR
4. Read at least 300 pages
5. Read everyday! (< but this was a year goal anyway)

I may even part-take in the challenges this time!! ^_^ Good luck to everyone joining in!

Year of Cosmere!

(Excuse the crappy image but cba making anything fancy)

My lovely booktuber friends have just annouced #YearofCosmere! If you love Brandon Sanderson or want to start reading his books then definitely keep reading! It starts February with The Finale Empire (Mistborn #1) and will run all year ending in a live chatshow in January next year! But enough of me! More information here and below:

February – The Final Empire
March – The Well of Ascension
April – The Hero of Ages
May – Elantris and the Emperor’s Soul
June – Steelheart and The Rithmatist (not Cosmere related)
July – The Way of Kings
August – Warbreaker
September – Words of Radiance
October – The Alloy of Law
November – Shadows of Self
December – Short Fiction and Novellas

This is perfect timing for me as well ALL know I want to read all of Sanderson’s books this year that have been released up until last year!! So I will see you all in March because I’ve already read Mistborn #1 and spoilers; I freaking love it and it’s a 5 star book for me!

I didn’t post this last night as I was way too tired! I will be participating in Read Your Book Shelf-a-Thon (see here)! I probably shouldn’t because, y’know, uni but I’ve been so into reading lately compared to wasting my spare time watching TV so I thought why not! I don’t have lessons 5 of the days it’s running (Janruary 16th – 23rd) so hopefully I can get some decent reading done and not neglect my uni work at the same time xD

From my physical shelf I am going from (thanks to random number generator) number 4 (of 13) – in fact the first number it came up with was 12 and there was no way I was going to start with a 600 page soap opera following a Brandon Sanderson book that wasn’t Mistborn xD – on my shelf. Which means my reading will go as:

Magyk (Septimus Heap, #1) Brave New World

Magyk by Septimus Heap
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley

I probably won’t get pass this point! But I’ll carry on so you know what I have on me at Uni:

The Lies of Locke Lamora (Gentleman Bastard, #1) The Well of Ascension (Mistborn, #2) The Hero of Ages (Mistborn, #3)Steelheart (Reckoners, #1) Peter Jackson: A Film-Maker's Journey Eldest (Inheritance, #2) Leviathan Wakes (Expanse, #1) Elantris 1984The Road The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, #1)

I’ve also added the possibility that I’ll want to do one physical then one e-book so I did another random number for that and I got 217:

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland  2:46: Aftershocks: Stories from the Japan Earthquake Ladle Rat Rotten Hut (The Grimm Diaries Prequels, #4) Mary Mary Quite Contrary (The Grimm Diaries Prequels, #5) Blood Apples (The Grimm Diaries Prequels, #6)

Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
2:46 by Jake Adelstein
Ladle Rat Rotten Hut (The Grimm Diaries Prequels, #4) by Cameron Jace
Mary Mary Quite Contrary (The Grimm Diaries Prequels, #5) by Cameron Jace
Blood Apples (The Grimm Diaries Prequels, #6) by Cameron Jace

And I’ll stop the list there because I probably won’t get through all those either. But a girl can dream and wish! Although a dream is a wish your heart makes < I’ll stop with the Disney cheese.

Have a good weekend!!

Cram-a-Thon Wrap Up!

Went Dec 20th – Dec 24th. There’s still 40-odd minutes left until it’s officially over but the child in me still believes I must be asleep be midnight on Christmas Eve or else Santa won’t come and I won’t get any presents! So here is my early-ish wrap up!

I was recovering from a cold when this started as well as I was very busy going to a performance and having a weekend trip during the 21st and 22nd, as well as my mother got ill on Sunday and passed a bit to me so I’ve been looking after her and myself more than having time to read =[ so I didn’t blast through like I would which makes me sad but making my mother better is far for important and satisfying =]
