December Wrap Up and January CR/TBR!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope you had a great Eve and I hope you have a brilliant NY day! ^_^ Mine will be spent in bed which is the best thing for me!! ^_^ So onto the wrap up!

Wrap Up

Heroine Shikkaku Volume 4
Orange Volume 2
Mistborn: The Well of Ascension

The Well of Ascension by Brandon SandersonOrange 2 by Ichigo TakanoHeroine Shikkaku vol.4 by Momoko Kouda

I finally did it! At 10:30pm last night I finally finished The Well of Ascension! After putting off reading the book for over 2 years(!), I finally got the guts to pick it up and it was amazing! (review coming soon!)

Currently Reading

Nothing. I do want to start Hero of Ages very soon but I think I’m gunna break the 2 and 3 book up by reading a smaller book in between but no idea what that will be. Probably a manga.

The new year always brings about a new motivation for reading so I’ve been thinking that I’d like to get through these this month:

The Hero of Ages (Mistborn, #3)Orange 3 (オレンジ, #3)

I have a quiet month socially (unlike December which was crazy!) so should be able to get more reading done ^_^

What are your Wraps Up and TBRs for December and January?

HAHA! There is NO way in hell I’m getting through ALL those books in 26 days! Whatta shame I can’t =[ so looks like my suitcase and handluggage will be having more books in than anticipated!

What did you read in June? What do you suggest I read first? Long books first? Quick books first? IS THIS DO-ABLE?! What will you read this July? Let me know in the comments below!

May Wrap Up and June TBR!

We’re in June already?! Noooo! I only have about 7 more weeks left til the end of summer… but at the same time, ugh I’ve still got 7 more weeks left of summer >.< I participated in two read-a-thons this past month so check my progress out here and here.

Wrap Up

Shingeki no Kyojin Chapter 69
The One by Kiera Cass (2/5)
Avenger’s Arena Issue 3 (3/5)
Avenger’s Arena Issue 4 by Dennis Hopeless (3/5)
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin (3/5) – just realised I haven’t done a review for this yet!! o_O
Vampire Knight Art Book by Hino Matsuri (5/5) – because it was perfect for a VK fan!
Kuroshitsuji Chapter 105

The One (The Selection #3)Avengers Arena #3 by Dennis HopelessAvengers Arena #4 by Dennis HopelessA Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)

I also lemmed The Jungle Book and Car Fever this month too! Reasons being The Jungle Book caused me to have ‘Friend like you’ from the Disney movie in my head every single time I read and drove me insane. Car Fever was just too… car-like? xD

Car FeverThe Jungle Book

And I read about half way through the next The Grimm Diaries Prequels story (#4) and 244 pages of The Vampire Lestat.

Total Pages: 746 Pages! An amazing improvement for me =]
Day Read in Month: 21 out of 31 days
Average Pages Per Day:
  35 pages
Average Pages Per Week: 186 pages

A pretty good dent and start to my summer reading! Almost already a 1/3 of the way to my desired 3000 pages read goal!

As already said I’m currently reading two books so they are naturally on this TBR…

The Vampire Lestat (The Vampire Chronicles, #2)Ladle Rat Rotten Hut (The Grimm Diaries Prequels, #4)

After these, I seriously will start these three books. These three books I definitely must read with all my heart this month and I know I’ll love them and I just gotta jump in!

The Well of Ascension (Mistborn, #2)The Hero of Ages (Mistborn, #3)Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter, #5)

And obviously the #YearofCosmere is going on so the books I’m supposed to read for this month are:

The Rithmatist (Rithmatist, #1)Steelheart (Reckoners, #1)

But we’ll see if I get time after those three epics >.<

What did you read in May? What will you read this June? Let me know in the comments below!

Summer Reading Goals

No May TBR because it’s just been read-a-thon after read-a-thon so there’s been no point to it xD so onto the SUMMER READING GOALS!

I have just over 2 months of summer so I want to use them wisely!

1. Read 30 books…but I would love to get to 50! But 30 seems more ideal for me =[
2. Read 3000 pages
3. Finish 2 Manga series – definitely want to finish GANTZ, keep up to date with Shingeki no Kyojin and Kuroshitsuji and the other manga I want to finish is…Highschool of the Dead.
4. Finish as many already started series as possible [list here] for series I have yet to complete, although tis a little old
5. Finish as many ARCs as possible (I have like 18) [See this shelf]

Blog Goals:
Post consistently
Comments on others more

Re-Organising My Shelves:

I decided to re-organise them so I had some priority going on. Basically just goes, priority books at the front, non-priority (also can be codename for = probably won’t get to/don’t mind not reading/my Japanese still isn’t good enough/will probably unhaul) books at the back. Let’s see who did and didn’t make the cut xD

^ Back row ^

I know you are all hating me for putting Pratchett and Sanderson at the back but in my defense! The Way of Kings is something I want to start when I’ve read all his other pre-2015 books and I like to read Pratchett’s books in order and the next of his is Wyrd Sisters for me which isn’t in that pile.

^ Front Row ^

Overall, including the RYBSAT books (and The Jungle Book) I have right next to me, there is a total of about 30 books! But we ALL know I wanna exceed that xD

Big goals? You betcha I’m looking forward to this challenge!

What are you summer reading plans/goals? Let me know in the comments below!

Video explaining the details here.

This month really (always) is the month of Read-a-Thons xD Tomorrow begins RYBSAT and runs 18th – 25th and I am looking forward to it especially as it’ll be my first full week off since Uni finished on Friday so I have LOADS of time and LOADS of books to get through! So without further ado, here is my TBR:

The Breakdown:

P1020519 P1020520 P1020521 P1020523 P1020524 P1020525

I also picked a point on my kindle shelf too!

If I get through the Anne Rice books and maybe one kindle book. I will be very happy!

Psst. TBR for May/Summer is coming soon!

Bout of Books 13 TBR

As this is my very last week at uni and all I have is revision, I feel I will have enough time to take part in this! And my plan is very simple: Finish all the books I’m currently reading and finish all the books I have left at uni with me! So the TBR is as follows…

Currently Reading

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)Car FeverThe One (The Selection #3)

Still at Uni with Me

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through The Looking-GlassThe Jungle BookTreasure Island

As for goals…I think I’ll keep it nice and simple:
1. Read as much as I can
2. Finish GoT (finally, please!)
3. Finish all my CR
4. Read at least 300 pages
5. Read everyday! (< but this was a year goal anyway)

I may even part-take in the challenges this time!! ^_^ Good luck to everyone joining in!

April 2015 Wrap Up (No May TBR?)

April went by WAY too fast! Two weeks of it were spent ‘on holiday’ in which I spent day and night working on a 12,000 word dissertation (massive stress relief once that was done!) and then the last two weeks were spent on Presentation prep and performing as well as finishing and handing in my portfolio, so busy busy busy! And I’ve only got about 16 days left until Uni is done for good… O crap.. Oh crap, oh crap. But onto the wrap up!

Wrap Up

The Glass Magician by Charlie N. Holmberg (3/5)
Kuroshitsuji Chapter 104
The Girl at Midnight by Melissa Grey (4/5)
An Ember in the Ashes Sneak Peek by Sabaa Tahir (3/5)

The Glass Magician by Charlie N. HolmbergThe Girl at Midnight by Melissa GreySNEAK PEEK by Sabaa Tahir

Forgot to do this for February and March:

Total Pages: 395 Pages!
Average Pages Per Day: 13 pages (< this sounds about right for me at the moment)
Average Pages Per Week: 98 pages

Overall I think I did pretty good! It’s been a while since I read 3 books in one month so it was a successful month for me! (even though one was like 30 pages, shh!)

I am not doing a May TBR…. just yet! Because, I finish Uni on the 15th and I don’t see myself being able read any books before then cos I should really focus on my essay and exam revision. So, while there will not be a May TBR, do look forward to around May 15th/May 16th when I will post a May/Summer TBR thing ^_^

March Wrap Up and April TBR!

A very very slow going month and I still haven’t started #YearofCosmere [probs won’t until the summer] so I would say an unsuccessful month and it will probably continue on being a slow reading period until mid-May but I can still hope to read a lot!

Wrap Up

Magyk by Angie Sage

Magyk (Septimus Heap, #1)

This was a pretty good book but it’s a shame it had to experience not being read weeks at a time ='[

The Glass Magician (The Paper Magician Trilogy, #2)The Girl at Midnight (The Girl at Midnight, #1)Car FeverThe Jungle BookTreasure IslandAwakening (Infinity Blade, #1)Brave New WorldWyrd Sisters (Discworld, #6)The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, #1)A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)Peter Jackson: A Film-Maker's Journey

I am currently 60% of the way through The Glass Magician (only took a few hours to get to that point) so I imagine I’ll be done soon ^_^ And then I’d like to read another ARC and some smaller books (so seven are above to choose from) =] Also GoT is coming back so maybe audiobook the remaining 200 pages of it… O! And I started reading the Pete J. book like 10 years ago and I think it’s time I finish it =] I stopped half way through and I am in a LoTR mood and would quite like to read some non-fiction right now.

So a rather large TBR compared to watch it should be but as the days go on my deadlines will be coming and therefore my work load should be minimizing =]

How did you do this month? Got a favourite book from this month? Did any disappoint? Let me know below!

February Wrap Up and March TBR!

This monthly (kinda thankfully) went rather slow but I don’t feel I did nearly as much reading =[ but as we all know my work is seriously taking priority (only got 2 and a half months of this stupid university – yes, I hate uni) as I want it done and gone asap.

Wrap Up

City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett
The Storm by Virginia Bergin

City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett The Storm by Virginia Bergin

If anyone wants to know I also finished this book:

Understanding School Bullying by Peter K Smith

Great if you’re doing research into bullying – it’s become a pain in my ass tbh!

I seriously need to cut down on my reading until May so I’ve gone down to three books (two I’ve already been reading for weeks anyway and one because of #yearofcosmere!)

Magyk (Septimus Heap, #1) The Glass Magician (The Paper Magician Trilogy, #2) The Well of Ascension (Mistborn, #2)

Back to my dissertation -_-

How did you do this month? Got a favourite book?
