YAHOO!!! How is everyone? Let’s go on with FR!!! I sound really happy don’t I? Quite the opposite: it’s nearly 12pm and I’ve only been up 3 hours after a 9 hour sleep and seriously just want to go back to bed xD rather tired for some reason… but anyways!!!
I have decided to put The Vampire Lestat on hold for now. The point of the story is at a dip and I’m really not in the mood to read something so sombre and dark at the moment. So I am concentrating on finishing Order of the Pheonix!
I’ve also been powering through GANTZ these past two weeks and have about 100 chapters left til I’m done! 100 chapters should take me about… 4 hours tops? Which is very exciting and it’s still very interesting to read! So fingers crossed it’ll be done this week!
IF I get through those this week, I am putting all my focus on finishing Angelfall. I saw a fellow GR friend post that she finished this in 4 hours?! I’ve been reading it for over a week and am only 16% through but that’s due to me falling asleep after reading 2 pages of it a night because I read it in the dark (on my kindle) while led in my sleeping position xD
My reading has been so blegh this month and I think it’s because I’ve been so busy travelling and sorting my visa out and getting my suitcase ready and getting rid of things and putting other things in storage. So looks like I won’t be reaching Mistborn this month ='[ But I must must must finish these three in the next 11 days – SERIOUSLY! -_-
Have a good weekend! What are your FR?
Somehow I managed to read over 500 pages yesterday!! Which shocks me because I didn’t finish one book during my travels yesterday but I read that many pages! Anyways, onto my plans for this weekend to throughout the next week. I’m just going to constantly switch between them depending on my mood.
My parents are away which means I get the house to myself and for some reason, why I live on my own, I tend to have A LOT more time, or at least it feels like I get a lot more time. So I plan to concentrate on the next four things.
I am half way through this book. I’ve hit a not so interesting part of the book and I do feel like this book could be 200 pages shorter and would still be just as descriptive and more exciting. But I am still enjoying it but seriously, need to finish this one now. It shouldn’t be taking me almost 3 weeks to read a 600 page book -_-
Started this VERY early yesterday morning and it’s interesting. Already there have been a few YA-cliche/typical moments that have made my sigh in disappointment but I am definitely wanting to read on!
I need to finish this series asap! Seriously! It only takes like 5 minutes to read a chapter, sometimes less if it’s just an action chapter so there isn’t any words, and I have about 150 chapters to go and I love the series and want to finish it!
I wanna start this also this weekend. It won’t be a slow read as I know what happens and I love the world. Maybe I’ll have a HP day where the films will just play on my TV ALL day and I’ll just read for the entire duration that the films are playing =] Sound good? I think it does!!
What are your plans for this weekend and next week reading wise?
Have a safe and fun weekend!
PSST. Expect my Game of Thrones review later tonight or tomorrow morning!
Been a month since my last one but it has been deadline and work hell lately. It’s slowing down now that I have only three weeks of uni left and almost finished my portfolio which means I only have one essay and one exam to go – although that exam is freaking me out!
Anyways back to book talk!
I am almost 3/4 of the way through The Girl at Midnight and I am trying so hard to get this done by tonight, or at the latest by tomorrow as it comes out in the 28th, alongside An Ember in the Ashes, which I have a sampler/sneak peak arc for as well which I need to read through!
Once those two are done, I am gunna take a rest from ebooks and ARCs and focus on physical books for a bit. So I am ‘currently’ reading; A Game of Thrones (200 pages to go!) and Car Fever (small book, hopefully won’t take long).
I’ve decided that I won’t continue on with Peter J’s Biography until the summer when I can read the book while marathoning LoTR ^_^ and after those two books are done… well there’s many an option on my current TBR.
Also, it is Dewey’s 24 Hour ReadaThon on Saturday (starts 1pm GMT) so fingers crossed I can get quite a few hours in, although atleast 6 of those hours will be spent getting ready and being at a party xD
Have a good weekend! What are you reading this weekend and upcoming week?
Cannot believe it’s been exactly a month since I last did one of these! << Just shows how little time I have had to read! *cries* But I finally have found time so I can finally post another FridayReads =]
Last night I finished Magyk! (Update tonight or tomorrow! Spoiler alert: I enjoyed it!)
I am aiming to finish The Glass Magician this weekend as it’s only a short book and I’m travelling home for the holidays so I’ll be reading (if I’m not busy with my dissertation corrections) it on the way! =]
But I have absolutely no idea what to start next! I’m suppose to be doing #YearofCosmere and this months’ book is The Well of Ascension but I do not have the time to be able to read an epic fantasy and I don’t wanna ruin the impact and amazingness of it by starting it but not being able to finish it until like June =[
So what do I start next?!
I was thinking as April = GoT I was gunna carry on reading it but I’m naturally gunna do that anyway and I don’t feel like picking it up right now anyway. Anyone got any ideas of what to read next? Out of my TBR I’m thinking:
But I was also thinking of getting another ARC out of the way, like:
What should I read next?! What are your fridayreads this week?!
I’ve been really wanting to get my dissertation draft finish lately so here is the book I have spent all yesterday and today reading and still got like 20 pages to go (why do academic books take like 1000 hours to read?!)
But I have to say Peter K Smith is a god right now; this book just seems to cover everything that my dissertation is about! So is seriously helping me!
Once that is done (and like 6 academic journals later -_-) then I can get back to reading leisurely:
It’s been neglected a lot this week (even had days where I haven’t read for leisure at all!) due to me pushing through with work so don’t worry(!) it’s not a case of me not liking it because I am enjoying it! =]
Okay so it’s not really a writing update but an idea sprung into my head when I saw this tumblr post last week:
And it got an idea into my head and I’ve jotted down the basic parts of it. I won’t be a novel for sure, but a novella or just a random bit of writing that might be able to fit into a story in the future is what it’s got going for it atm. So I’m happy that idea came about (especially with Camp NaNoWriMo coming in April!). I will only give a few hints about what the piece of writing is about:
– Internet Dating
Any ideas on what I could possible be writing? Who my character is? I love hear what people think/expect things to be (I do this with novel titles all the time! xD)
My Wrap Up and TBR will be out Sunday! So stay tuned ^_^
I seriously thought that today was Thursday and had a Tag Thursday all planned but obviously, it’s not, it’s Friday =[ so maybe that’ll be up tomorrow! Once again, sorry for the lack of updates; Uni is my priority and while I am still finding time to read, I don’t have time to think and write book discussions and stuff. Also the recent TTT topics haven’t been in my interest.
Currently about 40% through this. It’s my second time picking it up (the first time I got about 20 pages in and put it down; just wasn’t catching my interest at the time) and I’m having a blast with it. It’s currently at a solid 4 stars for me, so we’ll see how it goes! =] I don’t think it’ll be fully read by the end of Sunday but definitely by mid-week? And then I will go onto my final book for the month that I’m determined to read:
Already 6% into it and it’s a sequel to The Paper Magician (review here) and surprisingly it’s with the same characters so looking forward to what goes down!
What are you reading? Got any good recommendations? Any good book discussions you’ve read/watched recently? Have a good weekend!!
I do apologise for the lack of posts lately and for a lack of interesting posts. I completed a book this week as we all know! So I am currently over 50% on:
I am liking it, not as much as I was with the first book but I love our MC’s characters development between the first and second book and the love interest isn’t all that bad; it’s not insta-lovey and the MC denying it is very realistic and such xD the plot developing about the threat is very interesting too! I should finish this one quickly so after this one I am stuck between two books. I think I will read both alongside each other as one is an e-book and one is a physical book ^_^
Have a happy weekend!!
This week(end) there is a simple path for me!
I am currently (still -_-) reading City of Stairs and omg this will be finished this weekend! Because I received an amazing ARC this week which I just have to read ASAP!
As we all know I loved The Rain last year (review here) and omg I must read this sequel – especially seen as it’s one of my (only) three anticipated books of 2015! And Virginia Bergin has followed me back on twitter after I tweet about getting the ARC earlier this week!! xD
Have a good weekend! What are you reading?
Only two days left of January!! How is everyone doing? How many books have you read? How many are you currently reading?!
At the moment I am reading:
And very much enjoying it (only at 20% though) but it did take 15% to get through before I got interested and now I’m confused, so for those that have read it can you help? Saypur is where Shara (who is asian/african skinned?) is investigating right? And the continentals are Caucasians and who won the war? Seriously I am so confused because I thought everyone was tanned/dark skinned and then I read the Votros(?) were white and I’m like ‘I am so confused’ any help?
And that’s all I’m reading at the moment… I know right! I normally have a physical book on the go too but I’m currently stuck between which to start. I was thinking Magyk but then I thought maybe reading these two fantasy books alongside each other will just confuse me even more! So I’m now stuck between a fantasy book and the book I did want to read this January xD
What should I start?
Hello my lovelies and I hope you had a great week (I spent it trying to learn to prioritise work and spent hours getting an essay done =[) and if you’re participating in Bout of Books or Year-a-Thon then I hope you’re doing well! Let me know your progress!
But now onto my #FridayReads… It’s currently 10:37pm here and I was hoping to have read a significant amount of my book (as I sat down to read it at like 6pm) but I ended up having a 2 hour nap and just spent the past 2 and a half hours translating a magazine and doing fangirl stuffs. So, here is my rather repetitive but hopefully it should be a different track by tomorrow night #FridayReads!
I am over half way in the last Narnia book The Last Battle which means I have less than 100 pages to go and it really is an easy book to read – in fact if I spent the same amount of time reading as what I do trying to find music or a film to put on as background noise so I can read through it, I’d have finished like two books by now! Does anyone else have this problem?!
Also, I’ve only read around 32 pages of this book so far this week – blame essays and first week back at Uni! – but hopefully that will reach around the 100 page mark before the end of the weekend! I am nearly at 70% through which is exciting too!
I know I should really be getting onto The City of Stairs next but I am itching so badly to get back into Discworld and so I will definitely be starting Sourcery next, however, I do see myself also starting The City of Stairs so I don’t just have A Game of Thrones currently being read on my kindle so I have a variety to read at night (when I’m being naughty and reading in the dark and ruining my eyes so I can fall asleep!)
I’ve also been looking at my ‘Winter TBR’ that I set and noticed I’ve only read 2 out of the 16 books I put there! (list here) I have 12 (three of which are this months TBR!) of the books on that list, that are unread, with me at uni, and winter ends…. March right? *googles* March 20th! So I have a good amount of time to get through 12 books…
What are you FridayReads? What books did you finish this week?! What are you hoping to finish this weekend and into next week?! Let me know in the comments down below!
P.S. How do you all feel able me making a discussion about book pages and book lengths sometime soon? I have a discussion swirling in my head but don’t want to post it if not discussion is going to happen =/
