April Wrap Up and May CR!

Better later than never xD As I keep telling myself with everything lately haha

April Wrap Up

魔界王子 devils and realist 1 [Makai Ouji by Madoka TakadonoBranded by Abi Ketner

I was hella busy the last two or so weeks of April so didn’t get much time to read but I did finish one manga volume and the book Branded, which I gave 2 stars to even though it had an amazing start.

May Currently Reading

Elantris by Brandon Sanderson魔界王子 devils and realist 2 [Makai Ouji by Madoka TakadonoOyasumi Jack the Ripper

For May I’ve already finished Elantris (which I LOVED!) and one more manga volume which I’ll continue reading cos I’m seeing the Stage of it next month so I must be all caught up on i << that’s how my OCD works xD I’m also still working on the Japanese version of Oyasumi Jack the Ripper which I like anyay but it’s so weird!

And that’s all. How was your April and May?

January – March Wrap Up and April CR!

I have been neglecting this blog WAY too much and I sincerely apologise. If you’ve written any blogs the past three months that you’re proud of and want me to see then please let me know, cos I want to read them!! So let’s get this done!

January Wrap Up

The Circle by Myka RamosOrange 3 by Ichigo TakanoOrange 4 by Ichigo TakanoThe Princess of Egypt Must Die by Stephanie DrayThe Hero and the Fiend by Glenn G. ThaterA Dark Kiss of Rapture by Sylvia DayOrange 5 by Ichigo TakanoThe Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson

I read a bunch of shorter novellas in January so I could get an easy head start on my reading goal incase I feel behind (which already happened xD). I also finished the heartbreaker than is Orange and I intend to make a review of the entire series, as well as finishing Mistborn after a 3 year journey ❤ Reviews for the novellas can be found here but I still haven’t made reviews for anything else just yet – sorry!

February Wrap Up

The Martian by Andy Weir

I had some down time with in February and took my time (not really cos I was hooked) reading The Martian all month. Review yet to come sorry =/

March Wrap Up

Gantz/37 by Hiroya OkuGantz/36 by Hiroya OkuGantz/35 by Hiroya OkuGantz/34 by Hiroya OkuGantz/33 by Hiroya OkuGantz/32 by Hiroya Oku

I marathoned and finished the last 12 volumes of Gantz this past week! I am so happy I’m finally done with the series after reading it for like 4 years xD I’ll make an overall review of the series when I have time. In March I continued and caught up with Kuroshitsuji and Shingeki no Kyojin (I was about 4 or 5 chapters behind on both of them!)

Currently Reading

ElantrisBranded (Sinners, #1)Makai Ouji: Devils and RealistOyasumi Jack the Ripper

During March I started Elantris and I’m enjoying it a lot so far and I love how it’s one a three-character-POV-cycle and I love the world and I’m excited to know more! I also started Branded this week (it’s an ARC I’ve had for like 3 years!) and I have to say, I’m pleasantly enjoying yet another YA book. It’s even had me want to cry at least twice too! Other than that I started two manga series in March too and still reading them. They are Makai Ouji- Devils and Realist (watch the anime last week and I intend to see the stage play of it in June!), and Oyasumi Jack the Ripper (already bought my ticket to watch the stage play of it on April 22nd so had to do my research and homework before watching it!).

—-

And that’s my massive update done!! I am currently at 21 books out of 45 for my reading goal which is great but I understand some people would see ALL the manga and class manga as cheating but I really don’t xD Once again I apologise for the lack of updates but I’m just so busy. If I’m not working I’m either reading, watching TV, writing movie/drama reviews, translating, studying or going to concerts/stage plays/musicals/baseball games. So I am very sorry!

What are you reading this month?

December Wrap Up and January CR/TBR!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope you had a great Eve and I hope you have a brilliant NY day! ^_^ Mine will be spent in bed which is the best thing for me!! ^_^ So onto the wrap up!

Wrap Up

Heroine Shikkaku Volume 4
Orange Volume 2
Mistborn: The Well of Ascension

The Well of Ascension by Brandon SandersonOrange 2 by Ichigo TakanoHeroine Shikkaku vol.4 by Momoko Kouda

I finally did it! At 10:30pm last night I finally finished The Well of Ascension! After putting off reading the book for over 2 years(!), I finally got the guts to pick it up and it was amazing! (review coming soon!)

Currently Reading

Nothing. I do want to start Hero of Ages very soon but I think I’m gunna break the 2 and 3 book up by reading a smaller book in between but no idea what that will be. Probably a manga.

TBR

The new year always brings about a new motivation for reading so I’ve been thinking that I’d like to get through these this month:

The Hero of Ages (Mistborn, #3)Orange 3 (オレンジ, #3)

I have a quiet month socially (unlike December which was crazy!) so should be able to get more reading done ^_^

What are your Wraps Up and TBRs for December and January?

November WU, December CR + NaNoWriMo!

We are in the final month of the year which is exceedingly crazy! This year has gone FAST!

Wrap Up:

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (4.5/5)

The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #1)

I’ve also read about 25% of Well of Ascension and I am really enjoying it but I was more preoccupied with TV and NaNo in November to seriously stick my teeth into it.

Currently Reading:

The Well of Ascension and I started Heroin Shikakku Volume 4 today too!

The Well of Ascension (Mistborn, #2)

I have less than 30 days to read about 10 books – that ain’t gunna happen and I ain’t worried. I’ll have about 12 days off work this month so fingers crossed I can get some serious reading done in that time!

Also, NaNoWriMo!

nanologo

I did not complete NaNoWrimo, I only got about 12,000ish words BUT I don’t feel guilty or unaccomplished xD It was close to my personal goal which was 15,000 words so that’s great! I wanna finally get serious about writing and so between now and Camp NaNoWriMo, I wanna finish the story I began this NaNo and then once Camp comes around, I wanna start a new story for that and then work on that until the next NaNo and – you see the cycle plan I have going – but we will see. I always have LOTS of goals every year and never really complete any of them. So we’ll see.

How was your November Reading Month? What is your December TBR or Currently Reading? Are you freaking out that it’s the last month of the year?!

October Wrap Up and November CR!

Two months left to go – holy crap!! But alas let us move onto what you came for: Book Information!

Wrap Up:

Nothing

Not gunna lie… I didn’t finish a single book! I did read my monthly manga chapters but that’s literally all I ‘completed’ but getting through an almost 700 page book in a month is impressive (Name of the Wind) so I am very happy rather than disappointed xD

Currently Reading:

was currently reading The Name of the Wind BUT I finished it yesterday!!! ❤

The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #1)

Review will be up for it soon, but just so you know: I LOVED IT!

So now my Currently Reading is:

The Well of Ascension (Mistborn, #2)

I’m thinking of also continuing the Heroin Shikkaku and Orange manga this month.

Also, quick reminder I am participating in NaNoWriMo!

nanologo

If you are too then lets be buds! My link is here.

I still haven’t gotten a solid plan but the past few days I’ve been filling in the 4 ideas that I have in my head and they’re getting very fleshed out and meaty which is great so hopefully I’ll have a solid decision and begin seriously writing soon! *yes I am counting my planning words as a word count – no shame!*

How was your October Reading Month? I know quite a few people on here got through 10+ books – congrats!! What is your November TBR or Currently Reading? HAVE A GREAT NOVEMBER READING MONTH!!

September Wrap Up and October CR!

It’s that time of the month AGAIN! Only 3 month wrap ups left for the year!! Now don’t panic! xD sorry, my bad there hehe

Wrap Up:

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir (4/5)
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson (2/5)
Mary, Mary Quite Contrary (The Grimm Diaries Prequels #5) by Cameron Jace* (4/5)
Blood Apples (The Grimm Diaries Prequels #6) by Cameron Jace* (3/5)
Heroin Shikkaku Volume 3 by Kouda Momoko (3/5)

*Will review asap

An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1)The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. HydeMary Mary Quite Contrary (The Grimm Diaries Prequels, #5)Blood Apples (The Grimm Diaries Prequels, #6)hsvol3

My favourite for the month was obviously Ember xD but Mary, Mary was so good too!!! ^_^ A fairly decent reading month – shhhh I know 4 of the books are technically cheats due to A. lack of pages or B. full of pictures but shhh! xD

Currently Reading:

The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #1)

I am seriously enjoying this! I was confused at first cos I knew vaguely what it’s about but didn’t start in a way that fitted the plot I knew. But we’ve gotten onto the plot now xD This book will probably take me the entire month, maybe even November, especially when I’ll probs be reading manga in between too xD

How was your month?

August Wrap Up and September CR!

I’ve been quiet I know! But at least I remember to post Wrap Up’s every month! I am thinking of doing a big Top Ten Tuesday post soon which will be a mix of any of the past TTT’s that I’ve missed but want to do xD sound good? Okay! Now let’s get into the Wrap Up!

Wrap Up

Heroine Shikkaku Volume 1
Heroine Shikkaku Volume 2
Orange Volume 1
Station Eleven – DNF’d (got 40% in, it bored me. It’s not SF at all!)
A Court of Thorns and Roses – DNF’d (got two chapters in. The main characters bitchiness towards her sisters and how they treat each other seriously put me off teh book.)

Heroine Shikkaku vol.1 by Momoko KoudaHeroine Shikkaku vol.2 by Momoko KoudaOrange 1 by Ichigo TakanoStation Eleven by Emily St. John MandelA Court of Thorns and Roses eSampler by Sarah J. Maas

The reason I haven’t posted any reviews for these is because A. I want to do whole Manga reviews not just one per volume, and B. I see no point in reviewing DNF’d books on their own so I’ll either not do them at all or I’ll put them in one big ‘DNF review’ post thing. What does everyone think?

Currently Reading

I am currently reading An Ember in the Ashes and enjoying it a lot! I’m definitely more interested in Elias’ story than Laia’s but her story is interesting too, but things seem to be too convenient for her and I feel no real sense of danger in her story. BUT I am seriously enjoying it!

An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1)

After this I was thinking reading one of the three things below:

  • Work on my ARCs (and finally have them all read, but that is like 30 books. But work through them and either read them or just cancel my review of them).
  • Brandon Sanderson marathon (the fact I’ve still only read The Final Empire by him is a freaking joke! Why haven’t I read all his books yesterday even though I was blown away from the first book I read of his?! It’s ridiculous!)
  • Read Name of the Wind – I’ve been listening to Pat Rothfuss’ podcast these past few weeks and I love him as a person and it makes me wanna read his book even more!

These Days Are OursThe Well of Ascension (Mistborn, #2)The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle, #1)

So what do you think I should do? How was your August and what is your Sept. TBR?

July Wrap Up and August CR!

Sorry for the late reply! Just started training for my new work and so suddenly doing 9 hours of work a day has really shaken up my system and schedules. But here my wrap up is finally here!

As you can tell, more of these were read during the Summer Cram-a-Thon! >.<

Currently Reading

Because I’m not properly entering adulthood and the society of adults, I have no idea how my schedule will turn out nor how much time I’ll have to read (although so far, it’s only been about 2 weeks but, I’ve had more time to read). So for the time being, we’ll stick to ‘currently reading’ and not TBRs.

Station Eleven

I’m about 25% through this. Started this on the 30th. Honestly, it’s really boring me. People said it was SF and it’s really not. It’s currently a boring story in a post-apoc world =/

How was your month? Also, anyone read Station Eleven? Does it get better?

June Wrap Up and July TBR!

I have a announcement tomorrow so it’s better to post my WU/TBR today instead of two posts tomorrow ^_^

HAHA! There is NO way in hell I’m getting through ALL those books in 26 days! Whatta shame I can’t =[ so looks like my suitcase and handluggage will be having more books in than anticipated!

What did you read in June? What do you suggest I read first? Long books first? Quick books first? IS THIS DO-ABLE?! What will you read this July? Let me know in the comments below!

May Wrap Up and June TBR!

We’re in June already?! Noooo! I only have about 7 more weeks left til the end of summer… but at the same time, ugh I’ve still got 7 more weeks left of summer >.< I participated in two read-a-thons this past month so check my progress out here and here.

Wrap Up

Shingeki no Kyojin Chapter 69
The One by Kiera Cass (2/5)
Avenger’s Arena Issue 3 (3/5)
Avenger’s Arena Issue 4 by Dennis Hopeless (3/5)
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin (3/5) – just realised I haven’t done a review for this yet!! o_O

Kuroshitsuji Chapter 105

The One (The Selection #3)Avengers Arena #3 by Dennis HopelessAvengers Arena #4 by Dennis HopelessA Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)

I also lemmed The Jungle Book and Car Fever this month too! Reasons being The Jungle Book caused me to have ‘Friend like you’ from the Disney movie in my head every single time I read and drove me insane. Car Fever was just too… car-like? xD

Car FeverThe Jungle Book

And I read about half way through the next The Grimm Diaries Prequels story (#4) and 244 pages of The Vampire Lestat.

Total Pages: 746 Pages! An amazing improvement for me =]
Day Read in Month: 21 out of 31 days
Average Pages Per Day:
  35 pages
Average Pages Per Week: 186 pages

A pretty good dent and start to my summer reading! Almost already a 1/3 of the way to my desired 3000 pages read goal!

TBR

As already said I’m currently reading two books so they are naturally on this TBR…

The Vampire Lestat (The Vampire Chronicles, #2)Ladle Rat Rotten Hut (The Grimm Diaries Prequels, #4)

After these, I seriously will start these three books. These three books I definitely must read with all my heart this month and I know I’ll love them and I just gotta jump in!

The Well of Ascension (Mistborn, #2)The Hero of Ages (Mistborn, #3)Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter, #5)

And obviously the #YearofCosmere is going on so the books I’m supposed to read for this month are:

The Rithmatist (Rithmatist, #1)Steelheart (Reckoners, #1)

But we’ll see if I get time after those three epics >.<

What did you read in May? What will you read this June? Let me know in the comments below!
